Difference between traditional business models and meaning-based business models?
Traditional business models come from the production and industrial era. They are primarily focused on mechanical processes, as well as product characteristics. As mechanical processes, the characteristics of their product are based on uniformity, and consistency and branding is also based on uniformity and consistency.
Meaning-based business models are aimed to talking to the human heart and spirit. Some are based on transformational stories, and when a person starts using traditional business models to tell a transformational story or a heart-based company or values of a company based on love and service, there is a disconnect with using a traditional business model. If you can’t see this, try it for yourself: Try to describe peace as you would describe a box, or to describe love in two words. There are many underlying elements to it that help describe the essence of love and peace; music can help, as can images, poems, or stories.
It is important that we start recognizing the difference between traditional business models and meaning. Really ask yourself if it is in alignment with the meaning you are creating with the world, how you are communicating it with the world. Then learn new ways to update your style of communication.
Fear vs. Love in communications?
I have noticed this over and over: There is all this wonderful content, wonderful wisdom and spirituality and growth out there, and you can feel the high vibration of an author’s book or story. Then, suddenly, you have a “buy it now” button that says it won’t be available ever again, or they a half-price offer for you, and the person who already bought it is now upset because they didn’t receive the same option. There is a mis-alignment between the message, the delivery and the intention. The deeper “why” in order to have full alignment needs to be delivered all the way until the end, otherwise you start losing trust and alignment with your own brand. You can practice a simple tool: How do I feel when I write this? How do I feel when I say this? How does my client feels when it reads this?
There may be exceptions to a date situation, maybe you run a group program and they all need to show up at the same time to have an experience, or it is a one-time retreat you are creating. In those cases, the intention is real and pure and in alignment. In other cases, such as an online program where you have an advertisement that says “buy it now” because the prospects will miss it, and then you send the same email two months later, you start losing credibility because you were not consistent.
What is the difference between a vision and deeper why?
A vision is the large statement of what you want to be in the future, it is what holds what you are creating together. A walkable why is the every day reason of why you created in the first place and it holds you accountable to the original intention; in my case, I focus on a deeper why. In order to be a deeper why and inner why, it has to align with love, joy and service. It is something that when you do it, it makes you smile, makes your heart expand and it is bigger than you.
No vision – no destination.
No deeper why – no path to destination, constant U-turns and reactivity.
The deeper why is the heart beat of the vision, what sustains it and what makes it come alive.
Why a lack of vision impacts visibility?
We are in a world that has been conditioned to be led by the outside. We have been conditioned by making decisions about a person’s value and worth by the clothes they wear, how they speak and their status, and we need to pay closer attention to this conditioning and how it affects visibility. As part of this conditioning, people are having businesses and putting visibility first. They hire a web designer or a social media manager, and they are putting visibility and whatever they see as the key trend instead of placing the visibility on their vision. Their vision is buried but not anywhere visible, since a vision is created when another person can see the vision with you and then a village follows the vision and the vision is sustainable. Visibility is what makes the vision come alive. When the steps of vision and a deeper “why” are skipped, visibility is simply another task that misses depth and sustainability – and people aren’t able to see why you do what you do, why it is relevant to them, or why it matters.
Vision + Voice + Village + Visibility go together. The deeper “why” holds the heartbeat of the vision; voice is the authentic expression of the deeper “why;” village is who is it for; and visibility is what glues all of them together, or the vehicle in which the “message is delivered.”
What is the difference between a gift and purpose?
I use the word “gift” to exemplify energy. A gift has an energy of receiving, sharing and serving. An example of a definition of purpose is the reason for which something is done or created, or why something exists. However, the interactive energy in this word doesn’t exist until it becomes real. For a gift to exist, it has to be created, shared and received. In some cases, it could be in alignment with a higher purpose or meaning.
In my case, the gift’s ultimate service is contribution.
